Audition Requirements for Oboe

Requirements the same for incoming freshmen and transfer students:

1. Scales: All major scales, 2 octaves or full range of student’s ability

2. One melody from the 40 Progressive Melodies of Barrett’s Oboe Method (imslp.org) (can also be found in Gekler’s Oboe Method, Book 2)

3. Prepared solo of two contrasting movements, accompaniment is optional. Entrance auditions on oboe should be equal to the performance proficiency required for Class A solos on the Wisconsin School Music Association's State Contest list. See suggested repertoire below.
