Paul Kile
High School Honor Band, guest conductor
In September, 2010, Mr. Kile replaced Bill Webb as conductor of the EHS Concert and Symphonic Bands. Mr. Kile has previously been director of the Edina Hornet Marching Band for five years. He has taught high school band in Albert Lea, Stillwater, and Burnsville. He has also worked at the collegiate level having taught at Bethel College as interim Director of Bands and in 2003, served as the co-conductor of the Greater Twin Cities Junior Wind Symphony. He completed a Bachelor’s of Music Education degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and a Masters degree in Wind Band Conducting from the University of Minnesota. Mr. Kile has appeared with the Encore Wind Ensemble, Chippewa Valley Symphony, Sheldon Theater Brass Band, and the Star of the North Band and is the Principal Conductor of the Calhoun-Isles Community Band. An advocate of chamber music, Mr. Kile has commissioned several chamber works through the Cochran Chamber Commissioning Project and continues to seek out ways to incorporate chamber music opportunities for his students. He maintains professional affiliations with Music Educators National Conference, Minnesota Music Educators Association, College Band Directors National Association, World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles, and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. Mr. Kile lives in Edina with his wife, Laura, and children, Maxwell, Marcella, and Jacqueline.
